Villa Kissos is a fully restored, historic cave house with an inner cobbled courtyard and an outdoor Jacuzzi. It is located in Megalochori with its Venetian architecture, one of the most beautiful and traditional villages of Santorini, just a short drive away from all the main touristic attractions. Built under the church of St. Anarghyri, with its wonderful bell tower, Villa Kissos is a charming retreat for two couples or a small family seeking a private haven to experience the traditional life of Santorini.
Prominent features are the high walls and the solid wooden entrance, built for privacy and safety against marauding pirates. Painted blue doors lead the guests into the private beautiful courtyard, with the stone built Jacuzzi, the comfortable sun beds and the built – in sofas, a real oasis of calm and tranquility in the hectic summer months.
Villa Kissos can be appreciated as an accurate example of the island’s unique architecture. It is hewn vertically into the volcanic soil. Built areas are roofed by domes, or groin vaults in a kind of mould - cast structure. It is made of Santorini black stone and Terra Theraic (Theraic earth) that has insulating qualities and has proven to be an early example of bio climatic architecture (keeping rock-hewn houses cool in the summer and warm in the winter).
Villa Kissos is a Feng-shui certified and Geomantic cleared property: We designed and accompanied under consideration of the aspects of Qi-Mag® Feng Shui, and the applied Geomancy on site, the renovation process of villa Ivy on the island Santorini. To create a `feel-well`-atmosphere of relaxation and abundance - To increase the quality of concept and design of touristic facilities, with the goal to provide a place for the guest, that suggests recovery, and rest on a holistic level. Our guests will have the opportunity to taste and feel Greece’s scent and ambiance combined with moments full of light, positive energy, hospitality, respect and gratitude, characteristics of our nation’s glorious past and prominent future.
