A graceful, turn of 19 th century large 6 bedroom mansion in a unique position in Syros island
Grace mansion is located in Poseidonia or Dellagracia, the classy resort of the island of Syros since 19th century until today. Posidoneia is located at the southwestern part of Syros. It has the best climate of the island and a beautiful landscape. This is why it was the choice of the bourgeoisie for its impressive summer neoclassical houses. Famous mansions were built from the beginning of 19th century and because of their architectural interest attract all visitors of Syros.
Poseidonia has a bakery, pharmacy, kiosk, local tavernas and a gourmet restaurant owned by French. Two churches (catholic and orthodox of historical interest) and the municipality hall, one of the various impressive mansions of the area where exhibitions and various cultural events take place, are also located in the area. A picturesque marina with boats and yachts is very close to Feturi beach. The distance to the capital Ermoupolis is 12 km through a very good bus route and has a regular connection.
This “aristocratic” profile protected Dellagracia from the negative impact of the extreme touristic development, which means that the majority of tavernas, bars, hotels, rented apartments, super markets, shopping centres are situated at Foinikas, at a distance of about 1 Km from Poseidonia.
The mansion covers 164 m2 and has been designed by Ernst Ziller, a major designer of royal and municipal buildings in Athens, Patras and other Greek cities.
The villa stands in a 3-acre garden, surrounded by thick stonewalls, terraces and a sea view, only 200 meters from the Gulf of Poseidonia. It is the last house in a dead-end quiet road which leads to a pathway towards the seashore. The garden with the sea view is a pleasure by itself. Beside the huge pine trees the garden includes, olive, rare masticha and almond trees, and scented flowers such as jasmine. The terraces are covered by pergolas, ideal for all fresco dining and relaxation. These conditions guarantee absolutely a tranquil privacy for the tenants.
The property has been fully renovated with respect to the architectural elements of its era and all its antique early 19th century furniture and decoration restored. The 19th century antique furnishing is one of the special characteristics of the mansion, for example the chestnut wardrobe and its mirrors and the gold plated large mirror in the dining room from the early kingship years of Greek history, French and Chinese porcelain dishware and decorative items. All the above are at the disposal of the guests. The high (4,5 m height) ceilings are wooden. Linen curtains and antique hand curved curtain rails complete the decoration.
The villa has six bedrooms and can accommodate up to 15 persons.
4 master bedrooms and 2 double
2 main bathrooms and 3 extra WC and an outdoors shower point.
The living room is spacious enough for 15 persons.
